Customer Relationship Management Systems for SMEs?

I'm looking for some help to find a CRM system for analysing my web customers. I have looked at things like Salesforce and SugarCRM and they all seem focused on converting leads into customers.

I want something much more like Excel but with tools to "slice and dice" customer data and visualise it in different ways. I can export my customer and order data as a CSV and one of my stores has 45,000 customer records so far.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Web based solutions preferred especially if they have web service interfaces/APIs but application software to run on my machine would be good too.

I know I could write all sorts of Excel macros but I am more interested in spotting the unexpected patterns in my data.

    Look to vTiger also.
I think its better than SugarCRM. vTiger is fork of Sugar, but they have now different development model and strong community also.

Thanks spottraining. I took at look at vTiger and it looks like a better version of Sugar. Unfortunately both are focussed on lead generation rather than interpretation and visualisation of existing customer data; which is what I really want - imagine Google Analytics for customer data.

    Any other ideas?
