Couple of things about this policy (I'm a vendor and don't like the way they treat my affiliates) 1. Does it apply to vendors? It only comes up under affiliates help area. 2. How long have they been doing this? I see it it as abusive and I think its only a matter of time before some California lawyer that is just starting out and doesn't have many clients to file a class action law suit. I don't know if I would have signed up with them had I noticed that and I'm talking about as a vendor. I don't like doing that to my affiliates. I think it borders on a scam. How many people get four sales and never another. Then Clickbank keeps the money? They don't even give it back to the vendor, they keep it via a dormant account fee? No Mr and Mrs Clickbank, its grossly unfair and someone is gonna sue you. They keep the freaking money. Five is too high, way too high and no really affective I could whip out five different credits cards from my own wallet. Okay self, don't let them get to you. LOL gotta turn off my righteous indignation off. I'm curious how long they have been getting away with it.
Are you kidding me? If you don't like the policy, don't use Clickbank. Period. Or just make a bunch of sales. Clickbank is probably the most reliable affiliate company out there in terms of making on time payments. Lawsuits, LOL. You are a clown.
Rules are rules, affiliates are aware of these rules when they sign up. Clickbank is doing this to avoid fraud, because if they didn't have the CDR, a customer could've just made an affiliate account, bought the product with his affiliate link and basically get a 75% discount. Anyone that is serious about making money online, will have no problem getting the required 5 sales (or more) needed to meet the CDR
Awww Thank you, you're such a loving person. I love the valuable information you bring to this forum.
I lol'd fereal! Class action lawsuits are preferred vs. x,xxx group mass fraud attempts I'm sure. I agree w/Ripped statements, though I do feel your pain. If you can't attract affiliates that break 5 sales and rely on those that get 4 and leave, you lose either way no?
No where did I say I can't attract affiliates that can. Many do. My product hasn't even been out a month yet. I'm doing just fine with it. I care about the people that get one sale and don't get the money. I think it is crazy that people sign up for something and agree to the terms then sue but it happens every day. I merely made the observation that I think it will happen. I see it happen all the time. Notice I didn't say some big time lawyer will do it. I said some newbie out to make a name for their self might do it. I do think it is bad policy on Clickbank's part. It doesn't prevent someone signing up to get an affiliate link. The policy is there so that Clickbank can keep the money. That's the only reason it is there. I am very happy if someone signs up and buys through their affiliate link.
I've never sued anyone in my life! Why on earth would I sue you? Such a sweet loving human being that is so helpful.
End of the day sure - you can sue anyone for anything I suppose, even if you did agree to the terms. Not picking on you just saying with a good vendor comes good support and an easy transition for your affiliates - from those that trickle in the odd sale to those that can very very easily get past this minimum/fraud prevention step. Anyway, observation noted, and I wouldn't worry about it too much just support your affiliates well they know the risk they take on performance based marketing above and beyond these rules.
Right. Clickbank is processing tens of thousands of orders a day, making millions of dollars a year and they devised this policy to just steal a few bucks from their affiliates? That makes sense to you? Do you not see how it prevents fraud and people from signing up solely to receive discounts by purchasing products as an affiliate? The intelligence on this forum keeps declining every month or so. It just reached a new low.
I try to support them. I need better banners. I wish I had waited to add my product to the market place until I had them. My first product though. I'm the plunge in and test it kind of person so I almost always learn from my own mistakes. I did give them my pitch page. I did give them testimonials. I even gave them six related articles from another niche related website of mine. I like many things about Clickbank. I don't like this one. I wish they would make their paypal option stand out a bit more. I had a potential buyer email me today telling me he could only buy with his paypal. If he missed it, others might as well!
Are you really worried about affiliates which cannot make sales?!? And you think the CB policy is excuse that they are doing bad? If even your help does not assist them in getting more sales, then it becomes more their issue then your. Well, it is your as well because you have bad affiliates. On the other hand did you make tests with your product alone? Like doing PPC? Maybe it is not even affiliate problem, it is just that your product does not convert well. Concerning the paypal thing...I never had any problems with it. Got hundreds of sales via paypal.
Yes Centarec, I care about people and want to help those that are not doing as well. I've got sales from Paypal but today I had a user that didn't see the paypal button. I bet you have too.
Sure it will help them. Suppose they had one sale for a large dollar item? No way anyone is going to convince me that CB taking half the cash from a sale of my product and putting in their pocket is a good policy.
