I'm getting one made as we speak. Should I make it available for free D/L to help build backlinks? Are there lots of sites that you can submit your template to that will host it? I have never done or even thought about going this route before. Thanks!
If you are making a custom WP Template just for your website, then I would not share it, because it makes it feel as if you have seen the website before again and again. Keep it unique for your website only. You could however, submit other templates for free, to build links, but only for the templates you do not need to use and the templates that are not to important for you.
Right, if you are getting this made by someone for your site, then don't share it... If you are just developing it for fun, then you can share it for backlinks...
Well, the blog was only created to get links back to my site anyway. Basically, I have a cabinet corporation website, the blog is hosted on the cabinet site but is not meant for the users to really see. I used to blog to submit things to digg, reddit, and stumble upon. The blog links to the cabinet site, but the cabinet site doesn't link to the blog. In other words, the people looking for cabinets and woodworking service will never come across the blog unless they did a "site:www.blah.com" in Google. It was and is nothing more than a marketing tool for backlinks. It also worked very well. I hit the frontpage of digg 3 or 4 times. And SU sends a good amount of traffic.
