How can I set up a custom url for a domain registered in GoDadddy for an email service of Google? This domain is registered in Godaddy and is not added in any host, so the DNS is by default with Godaddy. Now I use this domain for Google Apps email. I just cant figure out how to use a custom url so that when I log in to Google email service I would go to subdomain.mydomain.com
Not sure if I understand but if the subdomain is setup, can't you forward the domain name to http://subdomain.mydomain.com ...using permanent forward in the custom DNS or forwarding area of the GoDaddy control panel?
I decided to host the domain in another webhost, not with GoDaddy, and asked the host to configure the CNAME and MX Records for me instead. Thanks NTWWeb.
1.Create account on Everydns.net (Thats a free DNS Service ) 2.Point your Name servers to ns1.everydns.net,ns2.everydns.net,ns3.everydns.net,ns4.everydns.net (NS1 is in San Diego, while NS2 is in San Jose, NS3 is in the Netherlands, and NS4 is in Washington, D.C.) 3. In Everydns.net account Add your domain name 4. Then under Managed DNS add entries as shown in example: 5.Things done
Are you using Google Apps for your domain? Now, you can have a custom URL for your Google Apps addresses. For example, if you have host your email for your domain using Google Hosted email service, your login URL will be something like http://mail.google.com/hosted/yourdomain.com, or http://www.google.com/a/yourdomain.com. Now, you can make your own email login address e.g. http://email.yourdomain.com/. All you need to do is just login to your Google service control panel, create a custom URL, and create/add a CNAME record.
Hi Michael Smith and Sunny, Thank you for your input. I asked my webhosting provider to create a cname for a subdomain that I created in cpanel. This subdomain is my custom url for Google email apps. I have solved this issue. Cheers to all of us!
