    Hi,

Is it a good idea to use free drupal themes from drupal.org and customize/edit them for your client's website ?

I would like your views about this....

Whatever theme fits their needs and visual desires. If a free theme can get away with this, then use it :)

I personally think you should be clear, and fair to your client and deserve what you make. We can also say you need to get paid fairly. If your client has a very limited budget explain to him and use a free template.
If you need templates, you can check out
