Custom Social Networking scripts - how much $?

I'm interested in having someone create a social network for me. Generally speaking, how much should this cost?? I know it's all dependant on the features and such, but how bout a ballpark figure?

a cheaper solution would probably be to use phpfox's platform, then modify it to your specs.

 

I realize that, although I'm not a fan of PHPfox. I have a site-in-progress running on dolphin 6.02, it's basically free PHPfox. http://www.writeinyourvote.com

I'm wondering about a ballpark figure for a from-scratch social network script. I probably will end up going with one of these pre-made one's in the end and modifying it heavily to suit my needs.

I'm just trying to figure out all my options.

From scratch - I asked around here a month back (I too was interested in starting one) and was given an approx estimate of $2500 - $6000 for a custom built one, depending on features.
