Ok basically I have a design base ready - Html, CSS and images. I need a custom paid directory built within this design. These are the features I need: - an allocated page for each submission with avatars or screenshots of a certain size of the site automated - basic categories with ability to add as many as needed... - some sort of rating system - description feature allowed with submission of a limited length - automated display of each sites page rank, alexa ranking and other generic site info like age etc If there's anyone who can do this who has a good trader rep just PM me. Greetings, I strongly suggest using the Drupal CMS system - it makes it incredibly easy for you to add/edit your content online, alter the theme at any time and setup additional features as time goes by. See http://test.realtidings.com for an example site. You can log in and see how it works too. Password protection is built into the site, so you will have any easy time of keeping the information / editing process as secure as you need. You can also assign moderator status to different users - nice! I will make sure it has several SEO techniques - clean URLs, control of title and meta tags on each page and a sitemap. The site also contains a WYSIWYG built in editor, so it is easy for you to add or change pages. This is a PHP/MySQL site and is opensource - easy to maintain, upgrade and extend as needed in the future. I would suggest you use PHPLinkDirectory 3.0 for starts, then make some modifications on top of that to fulfill your needs. PM me if this is the route you want to take as the modifications wouldnt take long. I have my own simple link directory setup at WebmasterLinks.us
As mentioned above,I'd suggest using PHPLD as well. You can check out Alike Directory in my signature,it's using that script with a custom design.
rlnorthcutt did you not read the post :S? I am a web designer I can make my own websites but I am not a PHP Coder. Guys thanks but I already know of all the free alternatives out there. I need a custom directory built around my current design. Hence the title.
