Hi all.. i would like to know whether its possible or not.i have my site hosted in a reseller account.i want to change the dns address which will be like ns1.abc.com rather than ns1.siteground.com or etc. i found some website which dns is ns1.domaincontrol.com but they are not hosted at godaddy. so i wonder it is possible to customize the dns address rather changing the nameserver. any help would be appreciated Thanks
To use your nameservers, you will need to request your host to setup child nameservers for your account and then create child nameservers in your registrar control panel. Once you done, you can use them. Kailash
I think it depends on where you have your site hosted as to what type of service they provide. So you just want to change the nameservers right? If you are with godaddy this is a very easy process. More info would help me to give some sound advice.
You can create Custom NS for accounts in your reseller, but the owner of your reseller can put custom nameservers for you..unless you can control the DNS of your account too
You need to create two custom name servers pointing to the IP address of your server, genearlly at godaddy this is very easy, then you just use these for all the domains as normal plenty of pages on google "custom nameservers godaddy" should bring some up
If you have DNS zone, add A entry for ns1,ns2 "that your private lable", then create them via your domain registar and point to the new dns(s).
It depends on where your domain is registered. Some registrars require the use of child nameservers while others dont. Its more work on the domain end then the host.
