Custom Channels & Targeting: How do you use them?

I've done a little research on custom channels & targeting. 3 days new to this, so here's what I have setup so far...

I have a custom channel for each ad placement, as well as custom channels for each page they're on. For example, I'll have different units on my post.php and page.php WordPress blog..if that makes sense. All are targetable - is this a good idea even though I'm targeting double or even triple of the same units?

What do you put on the description and title of the targetable custom channels? All my descriptions are the same...they describe the website and what goes on it, with some keywords.

Also, I'm confused about the Adwords Tools here: adwords.google.com

So...I will type in a keyword and it shows a list of keywords...then what? Do you make posts based on the keywords I see? Is the more competition, the more CPC I'd make? Could someone weigh in on this? Thanks!

If you want to use the targeting for potential advertizers then yes each text should describe the location on your site. But honestly I don't use that part of adsense. Advertizers can still target my site if they want, they don't need that. Or they can contact me directly. I don't bother with that part, the main reason being I still use the old code format, so..
