    Hello Guys,

I wanted to start a thread to see where other "White Hat" SEO Consultants are taking their strategies in 2014. We all know that 2013 was a year of many algorithm updates, panda, penguin updates, etc.

With all the updates it has made getting "Exact Match" anchor text a bit more difficult to get, more over ones that actually HELP and not HURT your rankings.

So, I wanted to see what some people were thinking are current effective ways to get exact match anchor text that are not going to be flagged and will hold up.

'White hat' SEOs usually aren't actually 'white hat' as they claim to be. If you build links for the sole purpose of improving ranking, then you're breaking Google's terms of service. End of story.

    But anyway, rant over.

Anchor text-wise, you want only a small minority of your anchor texts to be the search keyword you're targeting. the majority should be your site or company's brand name and your URL.

Look at this list of 101 'natural' genuine backlinks and you'll get a good idea: http://www.goddardseo.com/a-look-at-101-genuine-natural-external-links

Well I know proper SEO and link diversity and things of that nature, that is not what I was asking. I was asking more what "Techniques" you guys use to acquire these now.

The key is not only diversifying anchor text but the way you link your site. Don't just link the homepage over and over again, send that link juice to other pages on your site and make it appear natural!

Now back to the topic at hand. When I build links I use all sorts of unoptimized anchor text links to make my sites backlink profile appear more natural.

One way I did that was taking a look at popular services that are new and getting publicity and see how their websites are linked.

My list of unoptimized anchor text links are as follows:
click here, find out more information, learn more, website, site, url.com, for example, one site, this website, like this website

I have a list of about 300+ of these that I use and anytime I come across a good one I add it to my list making it easy to be natural.
