Curious about referrals to digitalpoint

    From the DP FAQ.
    In my profile, it shows that i have one referral. Yet i am absolutely sure that i gave no-one my referral link. Is there some secret way that people may get credited with referrals without them doing anything.

    Someone probably entered your username when they registered. It's possible that way too.

    it shows how many referrals is there. but is there any way to see who signed up from our referral ?

    Just a few days ago more than one person posted about referrals and it was explained that there is no reward for referrals as there is also a thread explaining how to build your referral link.

    Either way, anyone can name you when filling the registration form and here you go, a new referral is added to your profile.

    By the way, some people believe that referral is a mandatory field and put in the name of any member they see online or in a thread grabbing his/her attention.

    Nah .... i wasn't looking for any rewards :D

    I think it maybe the last way you mention. Someone who used to lurk around here might have thought that way and entered my username in the referral field.
