Hi guys, By now the news and hype of Cuil's everywhere. Two notable Google veterans, Anna Patterson of GoogleBase, and, Russell Power of TeraGoogle have moved over to Cuil. The search engine claims to be the largest in terms of indexed pages,'three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft.' Interesting to note is Cuil's harping on privacy issues:- "We believe that analyzing the Web rather than our users is a more useful approach, so we don’t collect data about you and your habits, lest we are tempted to peek. With Cuil, your search history is always private." I checked out our companies name on Cuil and G simultaneously. Cuil returned pages after pages of very relavant results with excerpt ( much longer than G's 150+ characters desription), while G returns about 12 results on first two pages and alot of irrelevant results. Lets see what the future holds. It'll be interesting to note if any of you out there has tested Cuil yet!!!
yes I have seen posts here and on DIgg, on Reddit and everywhere. DOes that mean I shouldn't have posted here? Like you, most people are coming with a straight blatant NO, or, 'lets see' answer. I find it very early to arrive on any decision. The obvious difference is Cuil's capturing of larger block of relevant body text from the web page. G only has space for 2 lines per search result, though that doesn;t mean it doesn;t index the content of the page fully. I havn't read ANY technical feedback so far! All opinions are based( and biased) on the fact that G is still God!
