C'mon dude! We all know that cuil cant beat google! Yes i agree with that, but dont blame them for being worst search engine! We all know, every successful company started from scratch
No truer statement has ever been spoken about Google. It's still OK if you're searching for "airplane tickets France Malibu" (even that's shaky anymore), but for anything even remotely more technical you are going to be jumping through too many damn hoops nowadays (+this, -that, site:...). I don't know about the "Cuil is refreshing" thing. I just jump through the hoops and quit when I get frustrated and move on.
i agree - i went and looked for ls7 corvette pictures and cuil brought me to a porn site... i was at work and that pisses me off
CUIL claims to be the search engine with so much indexed websites. mine is definitely not indexed there. The queries returned are mostly irrelevant but its improved from the first
Cuil is just a waste of time, I already tried it and found that it is just a crappy so-called search engine.
Personally, I saw hits from Cuil crawl bot on my blogs, but I think they do it just for inflating their claimed biggest websites index...results are often irrelevant and don't make sense, I really doubt if Cuil ever going to make dent in the universe, 'cause it simply doesn't add any value, it's not even better than Yahoo or MSN, not to mention G. I remember reading about Google, that when it was released as beta in 1999 it was really something really new, it really made the difference and it just worked. It's not the case with Cuil - it just gets lots of marketing hype.
I want to start a search engine project that will be a google killer. I want to call it floppysearch. I need five monkeys, and 10 million dollars, with a plane ticket to the Bahama's. I guarantee that a site will be online in the next five years, and it will search 60 billion trillion webpages - regardless that they don't exist yet. I'll be searching pages from the FUTURE! It will also make your coffee. FloppySearch, because you have cash to burn.
.... what if i register all domains names which can stand for floppy search? would you buy them from me for $1m?
Well... I also thought of a google killer, but its just too much investment... However the only thing that can succeed now is if you bring something NEW, like twitter came with something NEW! If anyone has loads of money to invest, PM me and i hav a plan which is too expensive for me to donate...
