I am looking at cubecart and clickcartpro as 2 options for building ecommerce sites for my clients. I prefer php, but have very little experience with cubecart. Clickcartpro is cool, but i really dont like to work with perl. Can anyone tell me any shortfals with using cubecart, before i dive in? TIA
Hi, murph, at this moment, i am trying it out. Whether it is good or not, i am not so sure, but at the same time, i am also trying out the OSCommerce. It look more flexible and was trying out to use it to sell mobile phone online to my own country and if lucky also oversea. Graphic of Cubecart look nice but some of the features comparing with OSCommerce, i would recommend using OSCommerce.
I'm steering clear of osc, but if i was to go with that it would be a spinoff like zencart or probably cre loaded...mainly as osc seems to be a real pain to modify skin wise Cubecart looks like it needs quite a few mods (i'm compiling a list of paid and free cubecart mods over at my site). As you can see alot of that stuff should perhaps be part of the core...
No wonder, i've been trying to put up my own type of look or design on OSCommerce wasn't that easy. I should try get more information about the CubeCart + OSCommerce.
Actually, cs-cart isn't too bad as well, but why oh why did they make it so you have to generate an html catalog...why not just use a mod rewrite module to get sef urls instead like everyone else!! Cs-cart does have loads of features though, a definite plus point - alot of that stuff would have to be added to cubecart AFAICS. Support forums don't look too hot though. Jshop also looks good, but that has session ids in the urls and is alot pricer - plus forums are new, always a bit offputting when it comes to cummunity support.
