CTR Problem

I just started using adsence on my site and I have run into a slight problem. My click through rates are extremely low. They are around .75%. Could anyone please give me advice on the following sites:

Freepacman dot net
House-Gecko dot com

you only have a link unit there that's probably why (and its hard to read too). Try adding a block (250 x 250) ad.. in your content area and let the content wrap around it, you will see your CTR improve.

 

so why wont the CTR be low?
I can see only a Link Unit in there, put some more ads in there dude, I am sure a Rectangular Block will do the trick

 

Ok, how many visitors do you get per day?

OOPS said the other way round...Link units offer great CTR,save space,look neat but personally i like ad units...

 

Now how do you conceal them and if you do - why even display the ad

 

^^You can conceal them between posts and have same background and hyperlink color as you site backround...concealing helps in getting more clicks sometimes even if you dont have good content...

 

^^^^ You mean to say blend the ads well?

 

try adding bigger ads on your gecko site. I mean, let your visitors see it try a rectangle ad

 

I have made some changes on both sites and for the past couple days my CTR has been about 2.5%. Hopefully this will continue. As far as visitors I only get about 40 uniques a day to pacman, mostly with no refering link and a couple search engine and about 25 uniques to the gecko site from type ins, google and wikipedia.

 

I added the new logo to the PacMan site but now the CTR is back down again. Any other problems to fix?

 

You can't conclude after 24 hours that your experiment has not worked (at least not with SEO). You 've got to wait at least a week to see the right results and that too your results will be meaningful considering you get same or high traffic.

 

I know I just get so impacient sometimes. Just looking for more ideas.

 

i would remove the border from the ads on the gecko website, and change the ad titles to the red colour.

 

Many grunts say help my ctr is low and only have 20 visitors a day. determining a significant ctr needs a decent amount of traffic to get the right value.

 

Impatient? You are in wrong business then Learn to have patience!

I have been making some more changes to try to make the site more attractive. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
