CTR on automotive forums. 0.08% ?

    Everyone knows automotive forums are low on CTR. I was just curious to see if this seemed reallllly low.

    My automotive forums get about 0.19 CTR over 15-20K impressions. Where are your ads positioned?

    No. It's the forum concept which makes for the low CTR, not the topic.

    yep, almost all "forums" will have low ctr by nature. Forums have tons of page views from fewer unique visitors.

    If you search on DP forums, you will find that forums have a low CTR.

    try to minimise ad impression on forum

    set banner not to display on
    - admin panel
    - Private message
    - search

    Ad technique
    - put banner just below navigation menu ( I checked with w3counter's site later...my top nav are the most clickable are )
    - try to set forum width up to 800 width...CTR will be higher
    - use image to attract user looking ate the banner area
    - Only display 1 ad on every page.

    My forum have pretty good CTR after minimising the ad impression.
