What is a good CTR on a forum? I have additional content on the site but I have to think that the average CTR is more than what I am getting.
From my own experiences, a 2% and up CTR is good for a forum. I usually averaged around 1% on my forums.
1.0 is good but kinda hard to achieve. CTR is usually around 0.05% for my forum which gets at least 50k uniques per month.
More then 1% is good on a forum. With forums you should really be looking past contextual advertising for monetization.
Leaderboard under the nav bar, leaderboard under the first post of a thread, and a banner or link unit under the last post of a thread.
mine is around 1-2 % which is the best I could get, before it was something close to 0.25%, but putting your adsense leaderboard under the navbar and inside the botton of the first and last post gav me good results
CTR for most forums will be very low, primairly because most visitors are repeat visitors who become ad-blind. Unless you can get a good percentage of new visitors and take steps to insure that Google gives you ads that are relevant to the interests of your visitors, and place you ads well, you'll have to settle for a low CTR. The best place for ads is integrated into content but, unfortunately, forum posts are typically short and don't have much that Google can work with to present relevant ads. So you have to settle for the second best positon -- in the post index -- which is not a good position.
The way around this is to create an article section on the forum and direct forum visitors to the articles. You get the best of both worlds.
try to monetize of the impressions lol, i barely get 0.10% on my forum daily lol, my arcade is around 3% tho
