CTR increased 5 times by changing ad format

hi friends, i am running adsense on my site www.orkutfunda.com

i was using two 300x250 ads on top regularly
see example

but since last few days my CTR gets down very much.
so i experiance with new ads formate 468x60 in one of my page.
that page is
http://www.orkutfunda.com/love.php

and i found that CTR increase by 5 Times.

So keep regularly chaning your ad format.
i will change my ads formate this weekend for entire site.

Great job on the higher CTR! Experimenting with different colors and ad blocks is the way to go. I must say that you should refrain from showing your G stats on here as you open the possibility of getting your adsense account banned.

 

But is this not against TOS . You have placed image add near images . I think we cant place adds near images , by this they can ban our account too .

Nice, most people will tell you that the banner format is old and busted and to use the bigger squares. Just goes to show that every site is different and experimenting with different formats is what you need to do in order to improve your ctr.

 

Somehow if it works well with you, why not monitor it for some time before changing again. This way you can collect more info and find out which one is the best.

I agree, I have changed my ads to those 336x280 and my earnings have just DOUBLED! I can't believe it!

With only 350 page impressions, I have received 4 clicks and 55 cents in earnings, which is AMAZING.

Yes, and that's only with 350 page impressions and I average between 1,200 page impressions a day!

 

Does Google ban you if the same person clicks on your ads like 8-9 times? I made like $5 today but I think they were mostly from this one guy using my adsense for search PROXY. =/

 

Thats great to hear.... keep it up... and NO adsense doesn't ban you for changing ads regularly.... they rather tell you to change it everyday....

 

Now, a little update on my earnings, with only 466 page impressions, I have earned a dollar with 5 clicks and as page CTR as high as 1.30%!

Thats a great move.. You always have to test new things.

 

I noticed too that 468x60 I had increased CTR but that the advertisements in that format for whatever reason did not pay out as well. I had it rotating from image to text so I am guessing the images didn't pay well. I have heard many people say that 300x250 image adds pay out the best. Good job though just keep trying different things until the site is optimized then after you optimize it you might want to look into putting an affiliate link or two along with adsense to get even more income.

i've had people click on my ads over 40 times and haven't gotten banned. You just don't receive any money for those clicks.
