What's your opinion... Do you think google factors in CTR on search results and its rankings? (for instance: If a URL on the second page of search results receives more clicks that a URL on the 1st page, do you think that higher CTR will push up that URL in the SERPS?)
it takes information from google analytics and google toolbar users (if permitted by user) regarding time on page and bounce rate and uses this information as a factor in its huge algo.
But how is it going to happen that people forget about the websites on the first page and then suddenly click on the websites on the second page?
my guess would be that yes, they definitely do. as far as site stickiness is concerned, the consensus seems to be that google do factor it, but in my opinion, far from enough. i think that would explain why you still have extremely crappy sites at the top of the serps, because people tend to blindly click on #1, and because even if they leave the site right away, google don't let it affect their evaluation of the site too much. perhaps they are afraid of people gaming stickiness the way they game pagerank.
