Ctr 400%

Dear All

i am a low adsense earner and usually have a CTR of 1-2% and earning of 2 to 3$ a day. I recently put search box on my site (20 days back). The search performance is bad. usually get 8 to 10 searches a day and if I am lucky 1 click or nothing. Yesterday had 2 searches and 8 clicks!

Should I worry about it?

just to add I know the what the guy searched for ...he searched for something that my site definitely should have (domain name) but doesnt have and so he got lost... and searched and since he came finding for "that".... i think he was genuinely interested in the ads.

i dont know if anyone understand what I mean.

 

Google will most likely automatically discount some of those clicks as invalid

 

i can already see them credited to my account. Should I write to them?

 

It does sometimes happen, it's just in your case because the number of clicks is so low you notice it making a big difference to the stats, I wouldn't worry about it

I have CTR of over 100% on a few of my sites from time to time. As long as you are not clicking your own ads you have nothing to worry about.

 

It will not hurt you, do it! Google in fact recommends to do so.

 

It sounds like a pretty normal thing. If a user uses your search, he finds pretty good results. So, it is likely that the user will click on more than one link in your search results. It's just like a regular search engine. One user make do one search and click on all links to do a research. You can't stop that. I think your clicks should be valid, because they seem natural.

 

I once asked this question on DP, about having a CTR over 100%, and my question was added to the stupid FAQ list.
