Hello all, This is a website I'm creating right now. I tested it in IE and it works fine there but in Firefox the logo pic and color behind the horizontal nav bar disappears. Any comments?
They do support it. So that's not it. It's gotta be something else. But...without the URL, as you mentioned, it's hard to say.
give us the link? Firefox supports 'real' CSS better than IE. From bad to good interpretation of CSS : IE < FF < Opera
To begin, if IE displays one way and Firefox another, it is highly unlikely that IE's rendering is correct. Use a standards compliant browser such as Firefox for your testbed and use IE only for checking to see what buggy behavior needs a patch, and which unsupported property needs to be worked around. From your problem description, and taking a SWAG, I'd say you have failed to contain your float(s)[1]. Floats are not in the flow. An element whose only content is a float, has no content, and so no height. IE wrongly encloses descendent floats where the ancestor has hasLayout==true[2]. cheers, gary [1] See Enclosing Float Elements http://garyblue.port5.com/webdev/floatdemo.html [2] See On having layout — the concept of hasLayout http://www.satzansatz.de/cssd/onhavinglayout.html
Shoot, I'm sorry, here is the <a href="http://www.sgsss.org.in/">link</a> Thanks for the replies, guys.
