I have a websites that provides free css templates for download. Now I want to make some money. I've created this poll on website here is the results: I'm considering to add more templates(hundreds) available only to subscribers.Would you pay for such a service? $9 for 3months 6% (20 votes) $7 for 2 months 2% (6 votes) $4 for one month 3% (10 votes) No 58% (195 votes) I don't know 27% (90 votes) Other 4% (14 votes) What do you suggest me, to do further? Is it worth it to continue with my idea? Do you have a better idea?
In client point of view,its not worth it coz the template can be easily found at many place. If you plan to earn money with this site,then i suggest you to be affiliate to sell premium template.
You will probably loose a large chunk of your customers moving to pay for template model. Always good to have a mix of free and premium... why not offer both? Also you could monetize through affiliate sign ups on hosting or domain registration...
With the amount of competition you are facing, just make sure you have some great content. Ideally, that content should be exclusive to your site and not available anywhere else. Also - frequent updates are important! As a subscriber, I would want access to a continuously updated collection.
