I would like to open a discussion related to CSS Framework and Future of the web design I am using 960 grid system for a long time now. 960 pixel based frameworks are quickly becoming outdated, because they are never designed to run on mobile devices. Now there are lot of device in the market What do u think of the future of these framework and their usage
Web design as we know it will die in the next 7 - 10 years. CSS and HTML will become irrelevant. People will purchase hardware that have apps pre-installed, that download "content" into personalized interfaces within their hardware. Similar to skinning your browser, people will define how they like to receive content and it will automatically be formatted accordingly. In the meantime, you can use media queries to test for different environments, and send the appropriate CSS layout accordingly. 960px width is still the computer screen standard since 25% of the computer internet users have this resolution or larger. What is not accounted for are handhelds which need different approaches to their layout due to their small screens. Media queries solve that problem, as well as computer users with huge resolution screens.
I highly doubt that in many ways imo! Reading this makes me curious if the world might blow up in 2012? You cannot word it out as fact "it will die in 7-10 years"..., without 100% complete knowledge of the future of web design! ( not even adobe knows the future, cause they are still building the future of design) You see how I put doubt / curious / might / & if?, not one human on earth can tell me otherwise without proof. Apps are managed by other sources which also include html / silverlight / flash /, including; operating systems. Without the design, you have text & code... You can download an app & most of it will not operate, cause it needs images, coding & much more from the internet! That mainly tells you - the app in front of you powered by your isp will run perfectly cause it was "designed" to do so & still considered "Web Design" The internet may build to large extents, html5 is going strong right now cause people are being innovative. Go into college &/or university, tell someone whom is taking web design that they just forked thousands on something that ""will die in 7-10 years" Anyways, I am done blabbering about this lol I still have lots to learn, there is so much coming out right now & being innovative is key. If there was no such thing as "innovation" then I may believe you that the web design WILL die
