CSS display issue with IE

I am helping design a site for a friend and its just about done, but there is an issue with the way IE is displaying the header. It is working perfectly in firefox. Here is the domain: www.blisskidsboutique.com. See in firefox the way the header is supposed to look (smooth transition from header logo to the search/nav bar). In IE it is adding a 2 or 3 pixel white line in between the two which messes up the whole "look". Anyone have any ideas on how I could get rid of the white line in IE? Thanks in advance!

In tag #navMainWrapper replace "margin: 0em;" with "margin:-2px 0 0 0;". It will work fine.

You must understand the mechanism here. An image is an inline replaced element. It aligns itself to the anonymous inline box's baseline. Modern browsers don't generate the inline box if there's no text or white space. IE does. See my why the mysterious gap under images demo.

Removing the gap via the negative margin is like slapping duct tape on a leaky hose. It may work for a while, but it's not the correct way to do it. Besides, unless you hide the negative top margin from modern browsers, you've drawn the two elements into an overlap.

KK5T, I tried adding it to the logowrapper function (I think that is what you were referring to) and it actually made a larger white space below the header image (and now for some reason I can't seem to get rid of that either, even when I revert back to the original code). I also copied below my header source code in case that might help. Any other ideas? I also tried what karmik had suggested just to see what it would to and it sort of fixed the issue in IE, but then it made the search bar in firefox go TOO far up. arg...

No, I meant for you to add that ruleset to the image descended from #logowrapper. BTW, that's an identifier, not a function.

In your css, add
#logoWrapper img {vertical-align: bottom;}
