Your header looks creepy with those 3 heads, I think you should get a more user friendly header. Other than that I think the forum looks great you need to drive more traffic to the forum to get more people to sign up.
Hi, The background dulls the look of the forum.Give it a white background and it will lift the look.Just try this is my suggestion only.
The forum's design is pretty nice, and you have some interesting topics. I think it just needs some promotion. Check the first site in my sig.
I like the layout, but I agree that the heads may be overdoing it.. As people might get the wrong impression and leave.
The site looks good... you have some decent PR... I think the problem might be that you are talking about war. REAL war, not some video game. I think the average person doesn't really like to talk about war and death when its real. Sure, they'll talk about it with their friends as part of another conversation.. but the average Joe doesn't even want to think about people really dying in war, so why sign up to a site to talk about it for hours a day? especially when most of the subscribers are going to have the same opinions.
