    Hello ,
I have a CRT Monitor that has gone very dark and even flickers sometimes.
Is it related to any hard disk and mother board issues, display driver problems?
    Please let me know.
Mine is Intel 82845G Graphics controller on Windows XP.
Any related links will be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

This problem could be caused by several reasons, here's what to do:

    (1) Maybe your graphics card driver is faulty. Try uninstalling your graphics card driver, then download and re-install it. If problem persists:
    (2) Maybe the graphics card itself is faulty. Try some other graphics card. If still unsuccessful:
    (3) Try changing your monitor, because it may be a monitor problem. If the problem still persists:
    (4) Maybe it is an operating system problem (Windows XP in your case) (Rarely happens), try formatting and then reinstalling your operating system. If problem still not solved:
    (5) Maybe your motherboard's display components are malfunctioned (Very rarely), in this case, what's best to do is either buy a new one or get a new PC.

    Hope this helps!

Fine, but better to use some new LCD screen.
