    Hey all,

Been working quite hard on a Finance website: http://financemanagement.org/

I believe my add placement is good and my content is of good quality but my CTR is quite low, any advice on how to improve this ? I am not getting much organic traffic which would be contributing to my low CTR but still would like to know any secrets / advice to help improve CTR in general.

Appreciate any help on this one, i know its a common question but most answers consist of... build more backlinks, increase your traffic and so on, i would like to know what you would do to improve your CTR if it was low.

    Thanks

I think you can still add two more link units to your site. People tend to click more on link units.
Plus I see lots of image ads on your site. People seldom click on image ads change them to text ads.
Another way to increase CTR might seem funny to you but it is the more your blog looks ugly more your visitors want to get away from it and in the process will click on your ads. This method works for me.:)
Anyways your blogs looks very good.

I see that you are using 250x250 ads within your content and I suggest changing it to 336x280 as it is proven to have the highest CTR. Instead of wrapping the 2 ads, you can place 1 at the bottom of the post. Test the change for 500 impressions and track the CTR again to see if it improves.

If not, you can try placing the ads directly below the title without any text wrap. Changing it to a totally striking link color might work at times. It is all about testing till you get the best CTR.

    hey zinghana

The low CTR could be because of the traffic is not good. Were is the traffic coming from? I know some niche sites i made that only got some search engine traffic had a CTR up to 20% but the traffic was only from the search engines.

Appreciate all your advice, organic traffic is my main problem atm.. sites are young, and most traffic is me promoting it, not so much on social networks but that of related finance forums, i would just like to see the CTR increase... I am not complaining about the cost per click as i am getting $5- averages which i haven't had for some time now, but all in all my CTR is crappy..

The ugly theme idea might work lmao maybe my site looks too good :) (only joking, i don't have tickets on my self, but am happy with the current theme layout & design)

    1)Organic traffic
    2)IP
3)Average time spend on your site from different IP.
4)High quality keyword rich articles will display costly ads.
    5)Banner ads

I guess these points helps you in getting good CTR.

I'd ditch the image ad at the top and go for a large text block same color as your content. That should improve CTR
