Can anyone suggest what to use to make a site that has a look of a magazine (featured artists, latest songs, artists news, top songs, etc) but also have a community built into it not parallel to it where these artists can submit their own work and have their own profile (which would be what shows up in the featured artists on the frontpage)..? basically I want to build a community for artists of a certain niche BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want the everyday shmoe to come to the site (hence the magazine feel) to hear (mp3s) and see (videos) the latest from the niche's hottest artists and upcoming events and concerts... a site where these artists come together to promote their talent to an audience of everybody I know there are many sites that provide social networking services..if so which on is easiest to use and has the ability to do what I want
I think Drupal is the best way to go. There are many alternatives and they all have their pluses and minuses.
