Damn.. this really sucks.. I've been always a big fan of steve...he was such a daring guy all the time.. I'll miss him.. R.I.P. Steve...
At least he died at doing something he did enjoy and love doing. Unlike George Best who died becauce of drinking. His family should be proud of Steve.
I always thought that the things he did was not so dangerous as it seemed to be. Turns out it was after all.
AOL news just said, "Stingray to the heart", so Im not so sure what happened, but I enjoyed his TV shows!
I liked that guy... No matter how sad this is; for some reason i always knew he would end up like this
He died as he lived ... I'm sure that he wouldn't have regrets looking back. He did what he liked, become rich and famous doing so, had a cool wife and a child. In his 44 years he has done more than most people in the 80 years that they live.
Yeah, I will miss him. I liked to watch him on TV alot, was quite fun. I doubt he even really knew what hit him. Yahoo news says the stingray barb went between his ribcage and directly to his heart, and stingray barbs can be up to 10 inches long. I don't think he felt much, if any, pain. Will miss you Croc Hunter.
I heard the news this morning, It is really sad to see him go, he was doing so much for the animals of the world, and the environment. He brought us closer to animals than anyone had. Its to bad that his life was ended so abruptly......
Poor guy sorry to see him go too. His documentaries were some of the more entertaining ones I've seen. May he Rest in Peace :/
The thing is, Irvin seemed like such a genuinely great guy to be around. You could tell his exuberance for animals and preserving them on every talk show and episode of his show. Really, I bet this guy couldn't hate anyone, and was just an incredible human being.
That's what I thought. Whenever I saw him, on TV or even from home videos sometimes; he always seemed like a cool dude - not someone who turned it on for the camera. And he was self deprecating too. In a recent commercial on ESPN he attacks the Florida gator mascot. On fox news morning one time; they threw a stuffed gator at him and he had a great time. I, personally, didn't care for his shows too much, but as a person, he seemed like a great person and I always enjoyed him when I saw him on TV interviews. And I always thought he got a raw deal from the time he brought his new baby out when he was feeding the gators.
I'm so surprised to read this here, because today as I drove home from the airport I literally thought the words "The world will be worse with out him, but it's better because of him." I think the fact that one of the first posts I read about this has someone saying the exact same thing I was thinking shows how much he will be missed.
I just got the news, what a sad news. I like his documentary. Damn, people were cursing him after a rumour saying he died eaten by crocodile early this year and now he really died. But the worst thing is, after all the animals, he was killed by a stringray?
