Critical Blogs and Adsense

I just started a blog where I basically criticize things I don't like, politics, our media, etc. And just as I was afraid of, Google takes the subjects of my wrath and puts an ad on my page for them because those are the keywords it's picking up from the page.

Is there any way around this so Google doesn't keep doing this? It's not a huge problem, but I'm curious if there's a simple fix...maybe a way of telling Google keywords not to use for their ads.

You can tell Google what to emphasize with ad sections. (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=23168)

I think it would be a pain to implement in your situation though, as you'd have to zone out each instance of a certain word.

Not that blocking URLs in your Adsense control panel would be easier, because that would need to be done after each new post, when you inevitably write about a new topic.
