I was watching the ceremony hoping that Kaka will win it. Ronaldo is great player, but he's not the only one.

Well No surprise for me as he is a best player and top scorer last year and two big titles also proved the things. I am hoping for some action from him too by this season as he not scored since Nov. 2008 and now it's time for him to score a goal. May be he is waiting for Inter Milan match.:D

I can't believe that it's taken this long for a premiership player to win this award to be honest. Ronaldo had an absolutely outstanding season last year, he had a huge impact on deciding the title last year. I think Kaka or Messi would have taken the award had Manchester United not won the Champions League though!

Well I was looking for two way fight between Messi and Ronaldo but That European championship is helped to Ronaldo to win Player of the Year award.

It will take something special for him to hang onto the award next year. He's been fairly ordinary in the league so far this season. There's still plenty of games left though and a couple of crucial Champions League goals could make all the difference. I've got a sneaky suspicion that next year will be Messi's year.

Yes he need to provide better performance in second half as Manchester United started second half now and I think it's a right time to score but next year I would say Messi is more stronger then anyone.

Ronaldo richly deserves this title as he has been definitely very good in handling the football on the field.....

Though....he is not that fortunate off the field in handling his Ferrari...
He did a near fatal accident with his brand new, just 2 day old car...almost completely destroying it...

Man Utd were well on top in the 2nd half. I'm surprised that they didn't put more goals past Cech to be honest. Ronaldo wasn't too far away from scoring twice either, he had a much better game than Lampard. It didn't seem like Lampard was even on the pitch for long spells of the game!

Well you are right Chelsea's midfield is missing on that day and we knows Manchester United have more numbers of shots in EPL this season but not convert them into Goals. Overall his performance is good but not best.

Ronaldinho has been trading on former glories this season, he certainly isn't world class anymore. I remember him being criticised a lot in the spanish press for being overweight and lazy a few months before he left Barcelona.

Yes you are right and now not many people even talking about him. Right now their two players who dominate the press is Messi and Ronadlo as both are excellent and have good talent at young age.

Yes but what you think about this year? No goals since Nov. 2008 when Manu beat Stroke 5-0.:D I think Ronadlo needs to be active now, as news are confirmed that he is moving to Real Madrid in Summer. :(
