    Hello,

I am looking for a payment processor where my visitors can enter their billing and credit card information on my website, then I can manually complete the transaction.

Would this require a merchant account?

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

If you are in the US, I would recommend a merchant account and authorize.net for the payment gateway. There are also several other payment gateways that offer API integration but authorize.net is the most widely used, is reasonable priced, and very well supported.

Paypal also has an options where the visitors remain on your website. Whatever the case, you need an API based integration method. Most of the companies listed above this post do not have any sort of API integration so they are not what you are looking for.

An electronic payment gateway would allow this and some versions of Paypal also will support this. If you are a member of Costco or Sam's Club - you might check out their offers as well.

The way I read the question, You wish to collect the data like a order form and then take the data and manually run the final billing charge? If so why not build a form to capture data secure and then download to your processing system. A great place to het secure hosted forms is www.formsite.com Hope this helps

    desimedia,

You can get what you are after, at lower rates than something like the PayPal virtual terminal, by opening a merchant account and utilizing Authorize.net as your virtual terminal. You have a simple and secure interface at authorize.net to manually enter credit cards to charge and/or upload a spreadsheet to process.

This is a nice firs step for a merchant account and can be expanded to integrate into a web site for real time processing.

Let me know if there are any other questions. I have been on both ends as a merchant and also as a provider of credit card processing services.

Hope this helps. PM me if you are after an inexpensive solution.

Shop around for the best rates. Some companies ;-) are willing to go lower than others. Example: Our company offers shopping carts and authorize.net processing.
