For those with successful credit card affiliate sites, what methods did you use to promote them and increase SERPS, apart from the obvious directory submissions and common things. Rep applied if there's something helpful!

You can probably close to double your revenue by running offers for credit cards. The best solution would be to create additional pages and link to them. You don't want to mess with pages that are well ranked. Use Credit-Land.com datafeed and you'll be set. You can also use a cobranded site. Just link to it from your current pages.

    Zorag,

11% conversion on google does not mean much unless you have CPC attached. The real question is how much can you make from 1000 clicks to any given program.

Based on our experience at Acclaim Network, you can usually increase your ROI by at least 25-30% over AdWords if you play your cards right by using Acclaim Network offers for example for relevant results. The spread people make between buying ads on google and sending traffic to affiliate programs is on average 15% but varies widely. Google discounts clicks by 40% or more so the owner gets only 60% at best so that means that you can have potential of at least 55% improvement in margin.

Yeah, acclaim's affiliate program is solid, used it before and referred a few people to it.

gbh1935 - funny, I had the same problem? I think they just want to charge a fee for their affiliate signup, wasn't satisfied with the customer support from cardoffers.com

NCS is solid, lots of manual updating because they change stuff so much, they seriously need to think about co-branding or an XML feed

It's a rough industry, I'd review some other affiliate options to try. I've attempted it twice and backed away because the initial capital is so high, personally prefer to promote other affiliate offers.

I posted this explanation before but here it is.

Acclaim Network has many programs from Merchants such as Discover, AmEx, etc. It also offers free datafeed for all the merchants/products.

Credit-Land.com is a separate Merchant on Acclaim Network with website that is an optimized site for credit cards where you can send traffic directly with a number of specialized Splash pages designed to increase conversions. Credit-Land.com also offers a free co-branded program that takes minutes to setup (requires separate account).

What options are best for you depends on your particular needs and preferences. Some of our affiliates utilize more than one option to maximize opportunities to convert traffic into cash.

If you're doing your own SEO and design your own sites targeting credit cards, your best option is probably to use our free datafeed from AcclaimNetwork. You can also put links/banners to Credit-Land.com affiliate program (such as front page, category specific Splash pages to optimize conversions). In addition, you can create a cobranded page with your logo and send people there as well. So you have 3 ways to redirect any user who lands on your page and make money off them.

If you run a site that is not marketing credit cards but you want to add credit cards to your site to generate additional revenue, you're probably better off using affiliate links for credit-land.com -- this way you send people to land on pre-optimized landing pages with automatically updated content. You can choose from a variety of landing pages such as front page, page for students, page for balance transfers, etc. The visitors will be exposed to top-paying / top-converting programs.

If you have a quick start credit card website that requires no maintenance and designed to get conversions, you can sign up with free cobranded site from Credit-Land.com (the site can be customized with your logo, your menus, you can add your content). You can have a ready-to-go credit card site of your own and market it.

Let me know if this answers it. I'd be happy to assist.

Beware of credit-land. The 800 number has been disconnected and the other number has said memory full for almost a month. Neither credit-land or acclaim are answering emails anymore either.

Try out the credit card affiliate program at CreditCardBroker.com Promoting credit cards online can be rewarding and challenging. You must be sure to promote cards with only ethical methods, or the banks will cancel your account. This can be a great experience for people who put their mind to it.
