If you go to Creative Common Search at http://search.creativecommons.org/ and tick both options: Search for works I can use for commercial purposes AND Search for works I can modify, adapt, or build upon, Can I use the images on the search results on my blog freely? Or do I still need to: - Contact the owner of the photo asking for a permission and - Put a link back to the Flickr Page Also, can I just hotlink to the Flickr image location from my blog post as well?
u should be able to use freely as long as it's creative common license, just that some require u to credit the original author, some don't allow any modification, some will allow u to only use for non profit purposes. So it's case by case.
Click the CC license link on the actual photo page. It will bring you to a page such as this one. Look in the "Under the following conditions" section and your question will be explained.
Yes, but the problem is that: You don't always see these on the photo page. When it doesn't, is linking back from the photo to the flickr photo page enough? Or you have to put a credit at the bottom of the post "Photo by Mr. X" at Flickr (and link back to it)? UPDATE: Alright, after doing some more research on the net, the safest way is to find out on his/her profile page. If such info is not found, use the Photo by Mr.X and link to his/her Flickr page
