Creative Commons license question

I am creating templates that I upload on different sites for free.
Can I use graphics (images, icons ...) that are under the creative commons license?

Is it enough if I have a read me file in the template folder where I mention that the images are not done by me?

 

I believe you should be fine. This is my understanding of what the Creative Commons is there for.
