Creating Video Grids on a Webpage

Hey, I am looking forward to starting a media website using Wix in the future. I am wondering what video player is best so I can create a grid of videos (rows and columns) where I can set the thumbnail image and title before one clicks to watch the video.

Wix does have the idea of what I want but the embedding is confined solely to youtube or vimeo URLs. My site cannot be confined.

For reference please check out: Worldstarhiphop.com or Flyheight.com

Any further recommendations would be appreciated.

I think there is a lot of cost involved in your project.

    1. Hosting. Amazon is super reliable and super fast and provide fantastic service, basic stuff is virtually free but hosting videos would cost you something, especially a lot. Netflix is with amazon. You would probably have to charge a fee to maintain.

    2. Don't use wix or wordpress. I'm ending it there.

    Regards,
    Chris

So if you are looking for a very reliable host at an affordable price, contact Chris over at cyberwurx.com. I have used them for years and the service is as near to perfect as it can be.

As for using Wix or anything else like that, why not develop/build it yourself so you can get it look and behave exactly the way you want it to? And from what I know about embedding, you should be able to use most any player.

    Good luck . . .

It would probably involve using JSON. Each video would have to correspond to the appropriate thumb. You would need to have some serious CMS to effectively load up videos / create thumbs. Do a search, see if there are CMSs out there that are designed to do exactly that. They may not be free though.
