Creating sites yourself or creating them online (like wix.com)?

    Hellohello,
    is it better to create your website yourself, using all the language stuff, or is it better to let the website be created by an online website editor (like googlesites or wix.com)?

    Hi!

    It depends on your own knowledge and what you can accomplish with that knowledge and it really also depends on what you want to accomplish.

    If you know what you can do and you know what you want to accomplish, then you will also know the answer to your question.;) In other words, there is no way anyone can help you with that question, unless you explain a bit more about your web site programming capabilities and what you would like to accomplish.

    If it's just a simple blog let them create it for you, But if you are looking for something special you should create it. It takes time and sometimes you have to spend money, But the result will be awesome.
    It also depends on what you want to accomplish as s.molinari said;)

    I recommend creating a website by yurself from scratch. Then you will know how it's done and have bigger control of it. Yoy will be able to easily modify and upgrade it. But if you don't have a basic knowledge about webdev yet, and you don't have motivation to learn it, you may also be satisfied with a website generated in editor ;) You can also use tools, which allows you to create graphic design with ease and then it automatically exports it to HTML or some CMS, so you don't have to do the coding. For example - Artisteer

    Design and Develop a website is a great way to share your knowledge or promote your business online . 24/7 from any region , no time limits , no binderies with the world .

    The best advice is from the start would be
    " Do what interest you "
    Like if you think you are beaten
    You;
    If you think .you dare not
    You Don`t

    Same way it`s totally ups to your mentality Which is difficult & which is easy .

    Steps :
    1. Use online editor .
    2. Learn Basic of HTML , Java scripts e.t.c & edit your template with the help of w3schools .
    3. After spending few months on your online website you have basic knowledge of website promotion & design.
    4. Quit online editor & use your knowledge .
    5. Design yourself.
    I know it consume time but it will give a life time result :)

    the answer is based on what your skills are and how much time you are prepared to spend on your project. To put learning HTML in practical sense, courses for this are generally 6 months long, whereas using WIX (or other online tools) are supposed to take in the region of 6minutes (though of course, the more time you take to learn the system will give a better result)

    My advice, would be to look at trying to create a site using wordpress. You can install a free theme, or buy premium theme, and if you do learn the basics of HTML and CSS, that will help you to modify, improve, or just customise your wordpress site

    If you understand CSS and know how to work with database, hosting etc. - then perhaps wix won't be the best solution for you. It's better to develope website on WP or Joomla and place it on cheap shared host. But if you have no skills in all of this - Wix easily solve your problems. Check wix review - http://www.irdb.com/wix/ to understand what opportunities it offers. In any case your choice - wix - is one of the best website builders.

    It depends on you, how long time you have, your knowledge of html and css language. I think beginners and people who want to set up a page fast should use ready templates. On internet you can find a lot of free WordPress, Joomla, Blogger, Drupal and other CMS templates. Choose one and work :)

    If you are a programmer and best coder then it is best to develop your website yourself even if you get the theme and template from any other website like (wix.com). On the other hand, if you are not a developer then you should to get template from other websites and customize it according to your needs and contents.
