hi guys i was thinking of this question. does it worth creating new blogs with relevant content based on my main site and posting original content linking back? there are discussions that PageRank is not the only important thing when google sees a link from a page to your site. I've been having problems finding good blog posts in my niche, i thought about starting a few blogs myself and post content/linkback to my site there. Since i will just start those blogs (blogspot probably) there will be no PR. Do you think this is a waste of time/resources? I dont have any intention to advertise those blogs, ill just use them as a sub information site for my main site.
Hmm.. I dunno if you post quality content then maybe it will be discovered and will increase your pagerank. It might also send more traffic to your main site. Even if you don't think it will work it's worth a try
It is well worth doing. In addition to your blogspot blogs, create squiddo pages. You can also use blogger and weebly to create blogs. Another one I use is prospotlight. I create blogs with content that is highly relevent to my keywords, then link back to my page. To make it truly effective, though, you have to also promote the new blogs you are writing. This can be as simple as submitting to some deep link directories and doing some three way linking between the blogs you are creating. By creating a large base with many blogs about your target subject, you are laying the foundation for your long term seo success. Once you create this large base of related information, then you can go about building authority for each of the sites. All of that authority will end up bleeding back to your original page. In addition, by having more content out there, you are going to find these other blogs ranking for different long tail keyword phrases, which will also drive more traffic.
I disagree with this method of creating blogs just to link back to the original site...that is kind of a link farm. A network of related niche sites can be beneficial, but multiple blogs on the same subject is not necessary. You can use article marketing without starting a bunch of blogs and take advantage of already established sites to market and get backlinks. If you want to start one good blog as additional content for your main site, that would be a good idea ...the daily content will attract more search engine traffic than a static web page. I wouldn't even get a new domain, or use blogger, (use wordpress..you already have hosting..use it) I would put it on a sub domain, or folder of my existing web site ie: "the blog".mywebsite.com or mywebsite .com/theblog. I have multiple sites in the same niche that feed of of each other, but they are all different. I would never start 2 identical blogs, it's a waste of time. JMO of course and this is what I do, doesn't make it right, but it works for me.
Very nice information guys, thanks a lot. I was not thinking of creating identical pages really. If the main page is about sporting clothing, one of the blogs can be fitness tips, other might be casual fashion etc. Related topics but not identical all. I kinda agree with both of you, but i guess this will give its return on time investment on long term.
A lot of webmaster create additional blogs in their niche when their aim is to promote a pure commercial website that noone will link to. These blogs become the main link provider for their domain.
It is a very good thing. A blog is one of the greatest things I have started with my website because now not only do I have my regular money from sign ups and the other ways I make money, but I have started building a readership which really helps. Not only does the backlinks help, but also your credibility you should be careful though you don't want to just start a bunch of dead blogs where you post once or twice then forget about it you will want to start a blog and stay on top of it writing at least weekly about your site and niche.
If you want to start those blogs such as: blogsport, blogger, or quizzila, squidoo, wordpress, ect… Absolutely, you will waste time to do it. But it will help to increase for your high PR.
actually i got the same question in mind weather to do a new blog or revamp my old blog into something with a new niche?
Yes it is. Blog is a big help to your site's traffic if optimized and promoted well. The last time I do blogging for the site I'm working before.. it did a good hits on different search engine and generate a good traffic.
You got the high PR when you have link back from the high PR sites ,and traffic is the same ,you have a good traffic source when you have link back from high traffic blogs . But when you create new blog ,you have to publish new articles and do SEO to your new blog to make it run well and link it to your original blog . You waste your time and resource when you do this method . __________________________ software for designing wordpress template and joomla template- click here | 5000 web templates for download - the biggest collection
Blogging is a great way to get quality backlinks to your site. A PR0 now may become a PR5 or higher in the future.
The webmaster guidelines og Google are very clear and should be followed in spirit. There could be a million of other tricks and many of them may be fruitful also but one should experiment when a site is well established.
If you don't do work on the blogs that you open, it will be a waste of time. Blogs are not self sufficient, you still have to update regularly and do SEO just like on your website. So if you want to open 10 blogs, go ahead, but you will then have 10 blogs, along with your website to market and SEO. It's like saying "I want to open a bar next door to my restaurant, to drive more dinner traffic". You still have to promote and run the bar, or you will have 2 dead businesses.
the only thing I can say is that if you are looking for links then just create squidoo or hubpages... my favorite is squidoo. Or you can always write articles, like ezine. They require less upkeep and can be great sources of links to your site. If you just want the content without it being put on your current site, set up a sub-domain. They are easy and generally free with your hosting. For example your current site might be www.test.com and a sub domain would look like www.new.test.com. You can make the name of the sub section anything you want. This is an easy way to place multiple topics on one domain name without confusing your readers.
Don't create blogs just to get backlinks. You're supposed to make one to attract visitors and boost your traffic.
many fales assumptions...it is worth making feeder Pages but: 1. Add their RSS to many RSS directorys 2. Social Bookmarking 3. Dont link only to your Mainsite. Link to different Websites 4. Dont interlink all of them only a few 5. From time to time post some rewritten Article or cheap other content This works quiet good for medium comp. keys
