Hello, im trying to ceate my very first authority site but i have a couple of questions. If i'll make a site for example specifically for a keyword 'Insurance', adsense CPC will increase automaticaly? And what if some visitors will come from other sites not related to my insurance site and they click on ad, am i will be payed the same amount compared to visitor who came from Google? It's really confusing me..
It's great idea to make insurance site, insurance site gets very high CPC, It's does not matter that how visitors are coming to your site like direct, organic from search engine or referral, CPC mostly depends on visitors location, Keywords Value and Website Impressions.
I have been noticing that sometimes when I visit a site, the ads are based on the last site that I visited. For instance, if I was on eBay checking out watches, then I went to your site, there might be a good chance that I see ads related to watches. But on my sites, a click is still money , no matter the niche!
Hi Brian, You are correct. Those are cookies tracking you and will show ads that Google thinks you will click on. So if I was looking for hotels, bam, I have hotel ads. As for the original question, it does not matter where the visitor came from. The value of the click will be the same for that unique individual. But this is based on location, keyword, ect.. which will determine the value.
I agree with you. And also i include something, As far as i've seen - if you use more ads unit in a single page the cpc rate decreased. Sometimes the revenue depends upon CPA instead of CPC.
I would take the focus away from advertising issues if you are trying to make an authority site and focus, instead, on what an authority site in the world of Insurance looks like. You are competing with enormous international companies, goverment watchdog agencies etc. Your site is going to have to be brilliant to be considered an "authority". It is important to have a business plan and an idea on how you will monetise the site but don't let those concerns reduce the quality of the site.
