I think it may be a limitation in vb's view, I don't currently use vb but I have used it on and off for almost a decade and remember not being able to do this. On a side note, even if you could do it, it's generally not a good idea. The point of making forums/sub categories is to cover a specific topic which you think will get conversation/discussion. If you need to go that deep with categories, it will usually do fine with it's own section. If you dont want it to show up in the list, you could always choose it hide it from the main forum view, and force people to click on the section in order to list the sub-sections
