the page i want to add a link to doesn't have an "edit" link.

is it safe to say some wiki pages don't allow link editing?:(

    Dont post it here.

If Wiki editors check this page, they will be keep their eye on the new edits in the page and they would remove your link if u try to place it in any part,

If the link is good and relevant it'll stay, if it's spam it'll be removed either way.

That's because 99% of the digg submissions were spam. Besides you don't need an account to edit data on Wikipedia.

The page in question looks like it gets spammed heavily, read here and if your content is useful then try requesting that it's unprotected

Do you really think Wiki is still a valuable link being so self serving?

    Yes i do..for real,
it is easy to add a link over there. However it doesn't mean it will stay. Also, since wikipeida is human edited. I would give link from there more credit if i am SE

The potential for abuse is enormous though. Anything which is self serving would be frowned up I would have thought.

Although in theory it should be open to abuse, the community and spambots are remarkably efficient at removing any unwanted or self promotional links.

I read a few weeks back that Wikipedia had now created 3 levels of pages. Some that can not be added to except a handful of trusted souls, some that can only be edited by approved editors, and others that can be edited by anyone but that are heavily moderated.

I am going to have to dig this out.
