    Hello,

I need to create flash animations for my websites, but look for an alternative to the expensive Abode software.

Could anyone suggest a free solution within the open source community?

    Thanks.

I dont feel, any availablility of free one in flash as best..

But for 60 dollars you can get a great software..which is just drag, edit, copy options only..no need to have flash knowledge..

    Hi,

    I found OpenLaszlo.

Anyone has experience with it? Will this make the job?

    Thanks.

if you're looking at make flash animations, there is no decent solution, either opensource OR proprietary, that can anywhere near approach Adobe Flash. I've had my eye open for years, and I've never seen anything come close.

I have purchased Adobe Flash, and I have also used the 'just as good as' and I can say with absolute certainty that anybody who recommends ANYTHING for Flash, other than flash is either ignorant, hasn't used flash, or is too dumb to understand the difference even if they did see them both.

Open Laszlo will create web applications that render in flash, in a similar way that Adobe flex works (of which there is an open-source version) but it's not for 'animations' per se.

http://opensource.adobe.com exists for a reason too btw...
