Creating Content-Rich Pages to Target Long Tails - Help Please

My site has had lots of PPC and organic traffic over the last few months.

I want to create content for my site so more of my site ranks in the SERPS.

My plan was to go to Google Analytics and look at my long-tail terms that I am PAYING for via PPC.

I then want to create pages for each of these long tail terms -- at least the major ones.

At the bottom of each content-rich page, I want to put a slight sales message, so each page works as a min sales-page.

    Is this a wise strategy?

    Two questions:

A.) Can one ever have TOO much content?
B.) Lets say my main page ranks #9 for a long-tail phrase. Will adding this content page help my main page's ranking, or will it eventually rank and surpass the main page?

C.) How does my plan sound?

You can never have too much content, just make sure you break it into concentrated catagories. Google loves sites with thousands of pages.

I don't think your sub-pages will ever outrank your home page... but in theory it is possible.

Adding more content and going for long-tail keywords is ALWAYS a good idea. I'd go for it if I were you.

I think this is a good strategy.

If you create a sub page with the long tail phrase that has variations of the phrase in the title, description, h1, and content it will probably replace your home page in the SERPs for that term...if you get a link or two back to the new page with the keywords as the anchor text. Then the new page will also start ranking for some other long tail phrase and you can repeat the process.
