My idea is to create a few blogs, put content on them that's related to the theme of my main site, then add some links to my main site. I don't care if these blogs don't get any traffic, or don't generate any income. All I care about is getting the links to my main site. Has anyone had any experience with doing this? Also, what would be the best free hosts for the blogs? Thank you
Im my opinion, if you create another blog, you´ll have to spend time on promoting them so you can make people get into the blog and click on your link to go to the another page. If you just create a blog and don´t promote it, it won´t get any PR, without a good PR and traffic your link has no value. Instead loose time on creating new blogs, just spend time promoting your link on others sites
So are u planning on the Blog network inter-mesh trying to drive links to your money sites ? If that is the case, Google is cracking a lot on Blog n/w's
I was wondering this also. Lets say someone were to have automatic blog making software, and it were pretty easy to upload a bunch of blogs with anchor text. Like, 10 blogs a day for 20- 30 backlinks. Would this count in google/yahoo/msn as backlinks, or would they just not count at all? I know they wouldn't pass any link juice, as they're not being updated, however there is a school of thought that says a link is a link.
As long as these blogs are indexed, they will count as backlinks however the technique you are describing is blackhat and Google in particular is cutting down on these including penalizing sites with an excessive number of backlinks coming from such blog networks.
They need diff IPS, and I would even go so far as to put the domains under friends names. Might help you out more
My plan is to create only a few blogs and submit them to free directories to obtain some PR for them. My experience is that you can eventually get to PR2 or even PR3 by submitting to free directories. I don't plan to link the blogs to each other, or connect them in any way. I also won't use any kind of automated content generating software. I intend to design each blog to match the subject of one particular page of my main site, and then put a deep link from the blog to that page. By using this method, I think I can get some valuable links. I realize that this will take time and effort. But my main site is non-commercial and my goal is long-term, so I'm in no hurry.
Sounds like a lot of work to me. However, it could possibly work... I do something similar, but less time investment. Rather than create a blog to build links to my site, I write short guide articles for Associated Content (and I intend to start doing them on other sites too, like Xomba.com). I write a brief article giving an overview of a topic and linking to a few pages on my main site for more information. The articles are indexed quickly by Google, because it likes AC. If people view the article, I still get paid for it (through AC, or through Adsense if you use Xomba). I actually do get some click throughs - not a ton, but it's better than nothing. Might be an alternative idea to creating a network of blogs to support yourself. Edit: Almost forgot. I think in the long run this shouldn't be so necessary anyway. If your site is popular, you should be getting plenty of backlinks from other sites that are conversing with you. Building links like this (either handwriting articles or creating blogs) is really helpful for getting a boost in the beginning - so I'm not sure if it's worth the investment of creating a whole new set of blogs to do it. - Walkere
Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of Associated Content or Xomba, but will check them out when I get time.
It sounds like a lot of work, but if you can hire a couple of blog post writers who will create continuous content for you, then you might be onto something. The question is whether or not it is worth the effort.
I don't think if you don't promote the other sites and get a good PR ,backlinks from those sites will not be of much value
Just create some blogs on blogger and wordpress.com. Free, existing users for traffic, and good indexing. It will work great as long as you don't do something stupid.
I have seen this work for some sites, what you need is lots of blogs and a goos system for creating and promoting them
so what the point ? link is for make a more traffic. if you have host in same host service.. Same ip, its just waste the time... diferent things if you have made some blog networks regards
