    Hello, folks,

I'd like to ask you if any of you is creating and selling templates?

My main concern is how do you get around image copyrights used in templates? e.g. if images are from gettyimages or dreamstime?

I mean, the point is creating templates and then selling them is ok, but some concerns have risen from the fact that template owner is using them for business purposes as well (which is normal i assume), but how do you get across the copyright passing so the customer is covered as well?

Any ideas, suggestions, or links would be appreciated! Maybe some source for these types of images can be recommended.

    Thank you in advance :)

You can't use images from gettyimages on templates what so ever... even on stock sites, they state that the photographs cannot be used for templates.. you'll need to check the Terms of Conditions to Royalty-free photographs before using them on templates. I know there are *some* on sxc.hu that you can use..

Better use your own images or use abstract ones, design them yourself. ;)

For one site it is ok, but when you have 50 templates on the go and 1000 people who want to use them, it's more complicated. Anyway, answer is simple, use dreamstime.com images under W-EL. Costs about 11 to 50x times expensiver, but is ok, if look long term.
