If you don't know how Chris Pearson is, you should. He is the creator of the Wordpress phenomenon Thesis, a theme that quickly became a household name for Wordpress users. When I was reading one of his emails the other day, I thought "man, I wonder how his product became so successful." Considering I have posted over 50 times in his support forums, he is my number one affiliate on my blog, and I have been following him for quite some time, I know much about Thesis. The result: I tried to figure out Pearson's business model. Creating and Selling a Product the Chris Pearson way is what I discovered about his business model. I couldn't believe how simple it is! Success is the simple things done well, something that many marketers seem to forget. So here's the post. What do you think?
thats a great analysis. i wont much agree with the cheap thing. if you can make a product people need and offer it with affordable price people would buy it. its just that people like to pay only for the products that are good. keep up the good work.
Nice article, it took you some time to write it. However, I don't think Chris Pearson brought anything unique to the table in terms of marketing his product. The fact of the matter is that any website that has ever been successful had those same qualities. It solved a problem, probably created buzz, gained a loyal following, and had owners that cared about it success enough to support it. I think you could have done away with Chris Pearsons name and simply called it a guide to setting up a long-term business model. Good content though.
Yea, I actually thought about it, but thought it would be more beneficial to my readers if I made comparisons to Thesis, a product they commonly hear about.
