hi there i created a small photoshop animation to work as a splash page of course i want to make as a splash page for my joomla based site i thought i can move the whole joomla site into a a new folder and put the animation at the main root but then there will be ALOT of dictinaries to change in the settings so how can i do that pain free ? and how can i export the show from PS and be able to use it later and how can i create the splash page index in the first place regards ahmed note : if some one wants to do this for me for a small fee i am open
Just make your splash index.html, and make your links for home go back to component front page.but splash pages are a drag on seo though.
It's kind of pointless to do it this way...I mean, you could always add the animation to an article, then set the article to front page...or vice versa with a module... Splash pages blow for SEO (as a homepage)....why not just make a landing page with the animation and promote that?
There are template clubs that make templates that have a setting in them so you can set it to your Flash intro page first. Never tried it yet because I don't believe in Flash into pages. If I am lucky enough to get a visitor I doubt they came to my site to watch a flash movie. I would suggest you let your visitor decide what they want to do went they arrive at your site. Personally, when I land at a site with a Flash Intro I leave and never come back.
