Creating a small-business WP website from scratch

I have been asked by a friend of mine to create a website for his small business and I decided to use WP. I have limited exposure to WPI so I hope that through this forum I will be able to find the answers I need to most of them. Please bear with me while I tell you my vision of the website.
When the user enters the website, he will go to a start page that will consist only of a flash animation in the center and three buttons for picking the language.
When the user selects his language, he will be transferred to the website which will have only "about us" - some text, "contact us" - contact info and contact form, and "products" where there will be the products hos company sells with just a one-two word descriptions, given their size I think that 3 products on a row will fit well. There will be about 20 products.
So as I said it's a small website, actually a very small one, but my questions are big, or at least for me :)
1.Do you know of a WP theme that I could use for free? All the ones I have seen do not have an "introductory page" (the one with the bottle and the 3 language buttons). How can I create such a page, with no menus, text, etc?
    2. About the multilanguage - what plugin should I use? Should I create subdomains for each language or use directories instead?
For those of you who have endured my long-winded post, I would really really appreciate ANY feedback you can give me :)

For #1: What I would do is create a landing page (index page) with the flash animation on it and then have that page link up to the wordpress blog.

Main entrance page (index) will be in your main directory -->
Your wordpress blog would be in a subdirectory and linked to from the main page

I hope you understand what I mean.. :)

For #2: Have you considered using a translation wordpress plugin?

just create a sub directory and upload the blog there and upload you flash files in the main directory and link it to the page on blog and your flash is ready and use Google translation plugin , i don't use but mostly people understand English

I tried using qTranslate, xLanguage and LanguageSwitcher but they all don't work with my theme which really frustrates me :(
So, now I'm trying to find a theme that is:
    1. minimalist design
    2. on the front page you can post a rather long (vertically), but tight picture with some text. That picture seems to be the problem. Most themes have square pictures on their front page. Do you happen to know of such theme?

Hey just wondering what you needed for a theme as I have Artisteer a wordpress theme design software and could possible make you a theme (possibly for a small fee of like $10?) let me know via PM what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do for you.

    Happy Holidays
