Hi, I have not really looked into this topic yet, but will be looking to add a Sitemap in the next few weeks. Once you have submitted a Sitemap, if you update content and add new pages every day, how would you go about updating? Do you have to contantly send in a new file or will this be automated via the settings that you allocate? Took a while too sort out a p3p privacy policy, so want to get the Sitemap sorted as quickly as possible. Thanks.
I know that you send Google an XML Sitemap, but at the same time you receive a HTML Sitemap to place on your own site, so was unsure how you would keep this updated! Would be required in time, with 1000s of pages listed on site, many each day. Also wondered if Yahoo update the Text Sitemap that you send them. Thanks.
You can specify in the XML file the date updated and a frequency. You can also ping google, yahoo, ask, and msn(live) the sitemap update. Google may be the largest, but don't ignore the other search engines.
I used the same tool as Austrian and the sitemap works perfectly. Google is fairly good at updating as you do.
Sitemaps are a way to tell Google about pages on your site we might not otherwise discover. In its simplest terms, a XML Sitemap—usually called Sitemap.you can create and submit sitemap here- https://support.google.com/webmasters/
If you are using Wordpress then there is plugin which would help creating sitemap and new pages, posts would automatically be added in your sitemap.
I found the "sitemap contains inside the Yoast SEO plugin" better. It's great and paginate automatically.
That's nice, Every one is expert over here. Please tall me how much time'll take to index 20 pages site. And also tell me that can we again submit sitemap after make changes in our sites.
Hey use www.xml-sitemaps.com to ceeate sitemap while for cms likr wordpress or other use plugins or extensions there ton of them. hey it take less than 1 min to make sitemap of 20 page while rest is download it upload to site web server folder and submit to google the url of the sitemap. hey if once you submit your sitemap to google there is no need of submit it again even the sitemap get changed just ping once if you like fast index the change made.
