Creating a site about predators

How are some sites and especially news sites able to post chat logs and pictures of internet predators in chat rooms, on their sites? Especially without a legal criminal conviction?

The reason I am asking is because I want to create a similar site, but i'm still worried about the legality of all this.

 

I guess it depends .....

You can name a person as a criminal if the court has convicted the person as guilty

 

If you present facts, rather than opinion you will be covered. So if you say Mr X said *copy chat logs here*, and allow your visitors to make up their own mind, then yes you should be ok.
